On April 27, 2024, the 1st Battalion Black Knights of Sam Houston MSTC was awarded the annual Superintendent’s Cup for excellence in drill, color guard, physical fitness, and various academic endeavors. This is the second consecutive year the Black Knights have won the award. Dr. Diego Linares, Sam Houston MSTC Principal, was on hand to help receive the award from the Director of Army Instruction LTC (Ret) Cornell McGhee. The principal is a strong supporter of the Army JROTC program, and he reminded the Cadets after winning that it is all about consistency in the classroom as well as competition.
