Congratulations to the North Brunswick High School Army JROTC Air Rifle teams! The teams competed in the 2024 Air Rifle Service Championship in Anniston, AL, this past weekend. The teams placed 3rd and 6th in the South Region. Team A was led by Valeria Alvarado with a two-day score of 1090. Other contributing team members were: Lizeth Dominguez, Chelsea Saunders, and Matthew Ford. Team B was led by Ilene Rodriquez with a two-day score of 1087. Ilene also shot her personal best on day two with a score of 550. Other contributing members were: Miguel Gonzales, Julian Seda, and Malasia Simmons. Alternates were Logan Sham and Jeslit Bailey Garcia. Team A totaled a two-day score of 4292, and Team B scored a two-day total of 4225. Shooters Valeria Alvarado and Ilene Rodriguez made it to the finals. Valeria placed 4th with a 1.8 differential from 3rd, and Illene placed 8th. The A team now awaits to see if they will get an invitation to the National Championship to be held in Camp Perry, Ohio.
