On December 17, 2022, the Meridian High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) participated in a wreath laying ceremony at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi. The ceremony was hosted by Mississippi Veterans Affairs and sponsored by Friends of Mississippi Veterans. Sixteen enthusiastic and determined Cadets helped the Newton Mississippi community and surrounding Mississippi area honor the men and women that served and protected this great nation by laying a wreath at the grave site. This gave the Meridian High School JROTC Cadets in the area with 3,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. States and sea and abroad a chance to participate.
