Morgan County Schools Technology Park (MCS Tech Park) Army JROTC Cadet and A.P. Brewer student, Sebastian Rogers, excels at this year’s 21st MOWW Huntsville Youth Leadership Conference (YLC) held 26-28 Oct 2023. Cadet Rogers earned the “Bronze” Medallion and “Coin of Excellence” for being recognized in the top 3 of the approximately 100 students/Cadets in attendance at this year’s conference. YLC is a 3-full-day non-overnight event and is one of 20 MOWW multi-day conferences nationwide providing high school students the chance to develop leadership and communication skills while focusing on leadership, American heritage, civics, and the free enterprise system. The focus is on presentations by credentialed speakers, hands-on application workshops, challenging activities, and open and extensive question-and-answer opportunities with the speakers and with civic, medical, entrepreneurial, industrial, educational, military, and trades leaders and practitioners. Students gained and applied knowledge and skills in the conference focus areas to gain insight into the world beyond high school. Cadet Rogers is a Junior attending A.P. Brewer High School and a third-year Cadet in the MCS Tech Park JROTC “Patriot” battalion where he is currently serving as the Cadet Battalion Command Sergeant Major.
