McCluer HS Army JROTC Cadet Jakyra Henderson from 3rd Brigade was recognized by the Ferguson-Florissant School District Board of Education as she was offered and accepted an Army ROTC National & two Campus Based Scholarships to Lincoln University (MO). The U.S. Army National Scholarship is a 3-year ROTC Scholarship that covers tuition & fees, $1200 a year for books, and a $420 monthly stipend during the Cadet’s Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years in college which leaves the Cadet to pay for their Freshman year in college. The two Campus-based scholarships are additional funds provided by Lincoln University awarded to Army ROTC Scholarship Cadets. Lincoln University’s Army ROTC Department awarded Cadet Henderson with the LU Army ROTC Incentive Scholarship which will pay for her Freshman year in college. The final scholarship awarded is the LU ROTC Room & Board Scholarship which covers the cost associated with the residential halls (dorms) and meal plan!! All three scholarships combined, Jakyra has tuition & fees, room & board, and books paid for all four years of college at Lincoln University. While at LU, Cadet Henderson plans to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. Upon graduation from LU, Cadet Henderson will be commissioned as a U.S. Army Officer at the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
