This year the Lexington Senior High School, Jacket Battalion, has had the privilege of honoring the lives lost on the tragic day of September 11, 2001. Our ceremony took place September 11, 2024 at 08:46, the same time as the first attack on our World Trade Center. Our cadets collaborated together to compose a valuable and heartfelt Wreath Laying Ceremony not only to display for our school, but as well as our first responders, and community members. Members of our school’s band, G. Robinson, and A. Taliaferro performed “TAPS” on trumpets to commemorate those who lost their lives, and those who lost their friends and family on the devastating day. Our MC, Cadet SSG Zamora, states “This ceremony gave me the chance to grow my public speaking skills as well as really understand the impact this event had on people.”
