It is a pleasure to announce Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Kinsey Nicholson as a recipient of the Legion of
Valor Award for 2022. Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Kinsey Nicholson is a senior at Northwest Rankin High School and is currently serving as the Battalion Commander of Northwest Rankin’s Army Junior ROTC Program. 

She is currently a member of the school’s Thespians Troupe and is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and International Thespians Society.  Cadet Nicholson has received the National Sojourners Leadership Award, the Warrant Officers Association’s Award of Excellence, and the Superior Cadet Award.  Last spring, she was recognized as the JROTC Cadet of the Semester.  She has also served as Captain of the both the JROTC Leadership and Academic Teams. 

Cadet Nicholson has attended the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge, and was scheduled to attend LeaderState STEM Camp this past summer before it was cancelled.

She is ranked in the top 14% of her class of 417 seniors with a cumulative grade point average of 4.00 and an ACT score of 29.  She is active in both her community and church.  After graduation, Cadet Nicholson plans to attend Mississippi State University and pursue a degree in Biological Engineering.
