This year, there was a total of 64 teams from all the services in attendance for the JLAB National Academic Championship. Out of the 64 Teams, there were 31 Army JROTC Teams in attendance for this year’s competition. After a day and half of competition, 2 teams made it to the Army semifinals. The 2 teams that advanced to the Army JROTC semifinals was, 7th Brigade, Jefferson High School from Dandridge, TN and 8th Brigade, Lowell High School from San Francisco, CA. Both teams did a great job. 8th Brigade Howell High School won the semi-final and advanced to the final round to represent Army JROTC in the final Academic bowl championship.
In the final round of competition, a total of 4 teams each representing their branch of service competed against one another. After a great competition by all the Cadets the winner was finally determined. The results are:
4th place team was the Marine Corp JROTC team from Marine Military Academy out of Harlingen, TX.
3rd place team was the Air Force JROTC team from Springboro HS out of Springboro, OH.
2nd place team was Army JROTC Lowell High School from San Francisco, CA.
1st place, 2023 JLAB Academic Bowl National Champions was Navy JROTC, Troy High School from Fullerton, CA.
