On Friday, November 10th, 2023, Cadets of the Joliet West Army JROTC Sabre Guard and Color Guard from 3rd Brigade woke up early on their day off of school to participate in the Troy Middle School Veterans Day Assembly. They arrived at their high school at 0630 and arrived at the middle school at 0745.
The Sabre Guard did a sabre arc for the Veterans and their family escorts as they both entered and exited the gym. The Color Guard posted and retired the colors. The Sabre Guard and Color Guard then returned to their homeschool of Joliet West, leaving a nice touch and lasting impression on Troy Middle School, inspiring the next class of JROTC Cadets.
In the afternoon, the Color Guard and CSM went to Troy Craugwell Elementary School for their Veterans Day assembly. The color guard posted and retired the colors for the elementary school and veterans during their assembly. The Color Guard and CSM then left for their own homes, leaving a nice touch and a lasting impression on Troy Craugwell Elementary School.
