On September 11th, 2024, the James Madison High School Army JROTC hosted a 9/11 Patriot Day Remembrance ceremony at the flagpole in the front of the school. Families, veterans, active duty servicemen, the local first responders attended the event alongside hundreds of students and the battalion to honor those struck by the tragic events marked exactly twenty-three years ago from said date. The flag detail would raise the flag to half-mast before the Battalion Commanding Officer and Executive Officer read a citation describing the tragedies, honoring the fallen, and acknowledging those who took time out of their days to stand alongside us. At the very end, the local Police Department and Fire Rescue were presented with certificates of appreciation by the Battalion commander and executive officer for their support and dedications signed by the School Principal and SAI.
