On December 8, 2022, Interlachen, Palatka and Crescent City High Schools executed a combined military ball; the Patriots Military Ball highlighting historical and modern-day Patriots.  Each Cadet participating in the Patriots Military Ball wrote an essay describing “What Embodies a Patriot” and attended an etiquette class in preparation for the event.  One hundred forty-two cadets, school administrators, parents, Army Instructors and family members participated in the Patriots Military Ball.  The Cadets were honored to have as their guest speaker, Army Colonel Phylisha South, Army Talent Management Task Force (ATMTF) HQDA DCS G-1, Pentagon. Colonel South, a Palatka High School JROTC Alumni, positively encouraged all audience members to set, overcome challenges and achieve their life goals.
