On March 7, the Howard High School Army JROTC Lions Battalion proudly competed at the annual 4th Brigade Drill Competition held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Unarmed Drill Team arrived ready to compete, eager to showcase their precision and discipline against numerous schools.

Leading up to the competition, cadets dedicated themselves countless hours to refining their routines, ensuring that every moment was executed with precision. Their unwavering commitment and hard work were evident in their performance, proving their readiness to compete at a high level. Despite facing tough competition, the Lions Battalion Unarmed Drill Team stood out, demonstrating their excellence in drill and ceremony. Each cadet’s efforts paid off, with the Unarmed Regulation Team earning an impressive Second Place Overall, a testament to their skill and determination, and with the Unarmed Team qualifying to compete at Drill Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida for the third consecutive year in a row.

Participating in the annual 4th Brigade Drill Competition was yet another opportunity for the Lions Battalion Unarmed Drill Team to embody the values of discipline, knowledge, teamwork, and leadership. Their success not only reflects their dedication but also reinforces the impact of the JROTC program in preparing future leaders. With each competition, the Lions Battalion continues to grow stronger, ready to take on new challenges and achieve greater heights.
