In an act of courage, Cadet Hollins, placed himself in danger to assist his younger brother, whose hair had become in gulfed in flames. While applying knowledge taught in JROTC, Cadet Hollins provided initial medical assistance and assessed his younger brother’s condition without regards for his safety, resulting in preventing further injury from the fire while waiting for transportation to the Emergency Room. Cadet Hollins maintained his injured brother’s consciousness and provided comfort and care of his physical state. Cadet Hollins was able to clearly articulate the circumstances as to what had happened to the ER Physician and will be receiving the Medal of Heroism for his actions.
