Wildcat Battalion’s Hidden Gem
Garinger High School would like to highlight C/1SG Jor-el Kershaw, who is a LET IV. He joined JROTC at West Charlotte High School during his freshman year. His mother encouraged him to enroll in the program to learn new things and acquire leadership skills. He loves teamwork, meeting new people, and competing. At West Charlotte, he served as the battalion’s S4. After transitioning to Garinger, he wanted to focus more on life after high school and not compete for a position on staff. This year he served as the captain of the Raider and Orienteering teams. He plans on attending Central Piedmont Community College and becoming a firefighter in the city of Charlotte, NC.
