BROOKLYN, NY — On February 11th 2023, the Tiger Battalion Fort Hamilton hosted the first all Army JROTC robotics event at Fort Hamilton High School. Nine different schools competed in the 2023 SPIN-UP VEX qualifier. The Fort Hamilton High School Tiger Battalion programed, planned, organized, set up, and executed the first VEX tournament for 2nd BDE. This is a great leap for the 2nd Brigade as it encourages new STEM initiatives within JROTC schools, empowering students to excel in a society that is in demand of people with STEM skills.  The following schools participated: Central Reginal HS, Francis Lewis HS, Fort Hamilton HS, Morris HS, Port Richmond HS, Roosevelt HS, Theordore Roosevelt HS, Uniondale HS, and Xavier HS. The schools had the opportunity to win different trophies to improve their JROTC rankings, and reflect on their overall rank for the event, on robotevents.com.
