ALBUQUERQUE, NM — On April 1,2023 EVHS JROTC traveled to Cibola High School in Albuquerque NM at 6am. To start off the day A2 and Jovan competed in the armed solo expedition. Throughout the rest of the day multiple teams competed such as male/female color guard, male/female PT, armed/unarmed drill, and armed/unarmed expedition. It was a long day for all the cadets that competed with pride. After competing the cadets danced and had fun before the announcing of awards. Once it was time to receive the awards all cadets were very aggravated till we heard the announcement for the new 2023 STATE CHAMPIONS. For the first time in school history EVHS AJROTC competed in state and won state on the same day. Many tears were shed after that but us cadets realized it was so worth all the hard work and dedication in the long run.
