On Thursday, January 16, 2025, Mohamed Elsafty, a former Patriot Battalion Commander and current member of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, returned to Denbigh High School to share his experiences and insights with students interested in pursuing a similar path. During his presentation, Mohamed delved into the rich history and proud traditions of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, offering a glimpse into the prestigious program. He shared details about campus life, daily routines as a cadet, and the personal growth opportunities available through the program.
Students were particularly engaged as Mohamed discussed scholarship opportunities and the benefits of joining the Corps, emphasizing the leadership skills and camaraderie that cadets develop. His firsthand account of life at Virginia Tech resonated with the audience, inspiring them to consider future opportunities in higher education and military service.
“It was incredibly motivating to hear from someone who started where we are now,” said one JROTC cadet. “Mohamed’s success shows us what we can achieve with dedication and hard work.” Mohamed’s visit was both informative and inspiring, leaving students with a deeper understanding of the Corps of Cadets and the doors it can open for future leaders. The Patriot Battalion was honored to welcome back one of their own and looks forward to seeing more cadets follow in his footsteps.
