The Brackenridge High School JROTC Program is extremely proud to announce that Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Desarea Zuniga has been awarded a 3-year Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Scholarship valued at over $240,000.00 to the University of Texas at Austin, Baylor University, or the University of the Incarnate Word!
C/LTC Zuniga intends to pursue a degree in Biology and ultimately become a Physician.
C/LTC Zuniga is a member of the JROTC physical fitness team, the Commander of the Unarmed Drill Team and former Battalion Commander. She currently serves as the Battalion Inspector General – Special Advisor to the Battalion Commander and Senior Mentor of the Company Commanders.
C/LTC is also the President of the National Honor Society, an Early College High School student, a member of the Marching Band, Varsity Cross Country, a graduate of Texas Girls State, and an active volunteer throughout the community.
We are extremely proud of her contributions to the Mighty Eagle Battalion, her leadership across the campus, and her impact on the community. We are confident she will continue to excel as she takes the next chapter of challenges head on!
