On Sept. 29th – Oct. 5th, Brackenridge High School JROTC program had the honor and privilege of supporting the 2024 Congressional Medal of Honor Society Convention during its week long celebration in San Antonio, TX. The Cadets attended the Medal of Honor Reception and Dinner at the Vietnam Grunt Museum, as well as the Patriots Awards Gala at the Henry B. Gonalez Convention Center. The Cadets served in a variety of capacities, which included greeters, ushers, servers, tour guides, as well as invited guests. They had an opportunity to interact with these honorable Veterans, expressing sincere gratitude for their service and sacrifices. The Medal of Honor recipients also shared some of their stories of extreme valor and heroism, further inspiring the Cadets.

During the interactions and conversations, CLTC Naraly Salazar (BN Cdr) and C/2LT Riley Cruz (Bn AS3) were recognized with Medal of Honor Challenge Coins. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience for the Cadets in attendance, a night they will never forget. Avery special thanks goes to Mr. Joseph D. Bray, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, Texas (South) for the personal invitation to support this Convention.
