On June 10, 2025, Birdville High School hosted the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) accredited Professional Development Training, organized by the Texas School Safety Center under Texas State University. The weeklong training, held June 9–14, welcomed more than 300 law enforcement officers from across the state.

The event’s opening ceremony featured the Birdville High School Co-Ed Color Guard, comprised of C/CSM Asenath Downs, C/MAJ Joel Tovar, C/CPT Valerie Santiago, and C/PFC Lauryn Roybiskie. The cadets proudly posted the Colors in front of a distinguished audience, symbolizing their commitment to discipline, honor, and service.

“The Birdville Color Guard is honored to have been given the opportunity to showcase our skills and hard work,” said the team. “We express our sincere gratitude to Principal Mr. Drysdale for allowing us to take part in such a meaningful occasion.”
