On Nov. 15, the United States Army Cadet Command 6th Brigade held the JROTC Florida State Raider Competition. Bayshore High School’s Male and Female Raider Teams qualified at the Area 5 Raider Competition on Nov. 1, earning the right to represent Manatee County at the Florida State Raider Competition held at Sandhill Scout Reservation in Brooksville, Florida.
The Male Team, led by Team Captain Cadet Abniel Martinez and Co-Captain Cadet Hugo Hernandez, ended the season with the year’s most prized title, state champions. The final results of the competition showed that they maintained strong consistency and outstanding performance throughout the event. The Female Team, led by Team Captain Cadet Dulce Mazariegos Lopez and Co-Captain Cadet Nahomy Ramirez, also concluded the season by earning the program’s highest honor, state champions.
“Once we realized we won first place overall, our team was overcome with emotion because of all the hard work and sacrifice that went into this season,” said Cadet Nahomy Ramirez.
Their final standings likewise demonstrated exceptional consistency, reflecting their dedication and competitive excellence across all events. This marks the first time in Bayshore High School’s history that the program has brought home two state champion teams in the same season.
“It was a humbling experience just to make it to states, then to for both teams to win first place was such an amazing experience and something I will remember for the rest of my life,” said Cadet Abniel Martinez.
