National Air Rifle Championship

The National Air Rifle Championship is the pinnacle of JROTC marksmanship competition. Cadets from across all services sharpen their focus and discipline through the Postal round—fired at their home ranges—which feeds into the Regional Service Championships and culminates in the elite National-level event. This series challenges cadets to demonstrate precision shooting, control, and team coordination under nationally recognized standards.

Competition Pathway

  • JROTC Postal Competition: Fired locally, open to all eligible units
  • Regional Service Championships: Top teams and individuals invited based on Postal results
  • National Championship: Final round at Camp Perry, OH featuring top qualifiers from all regions
