Massing of Colors Son of the American Revolution

On February 18, 2024, members of the Sons of the American Revolution, Historical Societies, representatives of the Armed Forces, and members of the Garfield High School Army JROTC and other local JROTC units were invited to Forest Lawn Cemetery, Los Angeles, CA to commemorate George Washington’s birthday.

This year, the Sons of the American Revolution organized a large parade of Color and Honor Guard units, a guest speaker, and a flyby of vintage Warbirds bombers (in a missing man formation). We, members of the Garfield HS Army JROTC, are deeply honored to return annually to the commemoration and Massing of the Colors in honor of George Washington. Unfortunately, George Washington (impersonator) was not present, but Abraham “Honest Abe” Lincoln was able to speak making the event much more memorable.
