Maryvale High School Army JROTC Cadets from 5th Brigade visited Luke Air Force Base, Arizona on 17 January 2024 and were given the opportunity to operate the F-16 aircraft simulator. The F-16 simulator has trained thousands of American pilots over the years to prepare them to fly the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The Fighting Falcon was introduced 45 years ago and has been the fighter workhorse in the US Air Force inventory. These students were also given a tour of the pilots’ training and pre-flight areas. In addition to this, students received a front-row seat to watch the F-35 Lightning II (the latest American fighter jet) taking off on the runways.
