12 December 2023 – Lighthouse Brigade JROTC had 26 Cadets from Kendrick, Northside HS, and Shaw High School JROTC programs participate in an Army Aviation experience at Fort Novosel, AL. The aviation experience included a briefing on the High School to Flight School career path and flight orientation rides on the Army’s UH60 Helicopter from the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Additionally, Cadets had a STEM opportunity to train in the Aviation Helicopter simulators, and they learned more about the air traffic control career path as well. The education and training Cadets received provided career awareness on the Army Aviation Career opportunities when exploring one of the 3 E’s (Enrolled, Enlisted, Employed) following high school.
