The Mariner High School program hosts a large-scale Veterans appreciation event every year in their iconic Clock Tower courtyard. This year, over 600 Cadets assembled in company formations with an additional 1,000+ students and teachers to observe the ceremony. The school band played military service songs, a trumpet player played ‘Taps’, and the special guest speaker was Lieutenant General (retired) Gary Speer.

In attendance were over 50 military veterans from the community including numerous parents and the Commanders of many veteran organizations and posts (VFW, American Legion, Military Officers Association of America, West Point field rep, recruiters from all services, Blue Star Mothers, the local VA Hospital, Lee Health Military Support Program and more).
