The General Dwight D. Eisenhower Chapter of the Military Order of World Wars hosted a luncheon meeting on October 11th at the Museum of the Kansas National Guard.

The senior instructors and Cadet commanders of the five local JROTC programs attended and gave updates about the activities of their respective programs.  Highland Park High School (Air Force JROTC), Junction City High School (Army JROTC), Topeka High School (Marine Corps JROTC), Topeka West High School (Army JROTC), and Washburn Rural High School (Air Force JROTC) were represented.

MOWW outreach programs span the nation and involve hosting patriotic education and ceremonies, recognizing excellence in Senior and Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadets.

Attendees were treated to lunch and an interesting presentation from Mr. Boon Dodson of the Kansas Historical Society about the efforts to preserve several original battle flags of Kansas regiments that fought during the Civil War.

Colonel (R) Jon Boursaw, Commander of the MOWW Chapter then presented each Cadet commander with a donation check for each of their respective programs.
