Surrounded by the 7th Brigade chain of command, Colonel Edwin Chilton and Command Sergeant Major Eric Hayes, Montgomery Central High School’s (MCHS) Army JROTC raider team graciously accepted the 1st place overall trophy as the winners of the 2023 Austin Peay State university raider challenge. On 30 September 2023 19 teams descended on the campus of Austin Peay to compete for the right to be called champions. Over the course of more than five hours, teams navigated ten different physically and mentally challenging stations, but when the judges tallied the final scores, it was the raiders of the Indian Battalion who wound up on top.
