Cadets from Junction City High School in Junction City, Kansas presented the colors and placed wreaths in remembrance of those who have gave the last full measure in service to the nation at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas on Sunday, May 29th. It was a beautiful Summer day and many people turned out for the occasion from this patriotic community.
As an added bonus, the cadets got to meet and speak with Kansas Governor, Laura Kelley who was in attendance and spoke briefly. Governor Kelley grew up in a military family and is very supportive of the military and veterans. “My father was career Army, he served in World War II and earned the Purple Heart during his service in the Korean War” Kelley said during the ceremony.
