1SG (R) Phillips has been a JROTC Instructor and SAI for Van Buren High School for over 6 years. 1SG always puts the needs of his cadets above his own. He teaches cadets lessons that will be used beyond the classroom and leads by example. 1SG has played a vital role in many cadets’ lives whether they joined the Military, the work force or went on to college. He enjoys what he does and as he says, “I do it all for the kids!”
