DENVER, CO — On 15 April, the Rocky Mountain National Drill Meet was conducted at the National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado. The Meet was attended by 30 teams from across the country to include one team from Guam!
Special guests included the Sergeant Major of the Army, SMA Michael Grinston, the US Army Cadet Command Sergeant Major, Roy Young, the US Army Recruiting Command Sergeant Major, Shade Munday, and the 5th ROTC Brigade Command Sergeant Major, Jesus Robles.
Static displays of JLTV’s, EOD robots, and K9 units were available for the cadets to interact with.
Teams took advantage of Colorado with visits to the United States Air Force Academy, Pikes Peak, and the Front Range!
The SMA spoke with cadets and instructors as well as presented the Sergeant Major of the Army Cup to the Grand Champions. This year’s winner was Ozark High School for the second year in a row.
The SMA, USACC, USAREC, 5th ROTC BDE Sergeants Major remained after the event to take photos with the cadets.
We hope to see even more teams for next year’s event in mid-April.
