Last Friday, the Northeast JROTC program had the honor of presenting the colors on military appreciation night for the Buffalo Sabres hockey, NHL hockey team.
I am very proud of these kids. Presenting the colors is pretty easy. However, navigating all the events and professional players can be difficult.
These Cadets have learned to take all cues from the field/ court or ice managers. Timing is imperative when working with professional sports. They also need to coordinate with the singer and finally getting off the ice or field while navigating players, mascots, and other parts of entertainment.
This team has performed for 10 professional sports teams this year. Over 40 different cadets have participated.
The color guard team members are Cadets Jeremiah Oyola, Bruce Alcott, Alejandro, Serra and Ricardo Serra.
