ANSBACH, GERMANY — Two Ansbach cadets took home prizes in the American Legion Post 1982 Oratorical Contest on February 22, 2023. The post oratorical director and JROTC instructor, MSG (Ret) Christopher Buchanan, encourages cadets to compete. Cdt/SFC Laysha Bobbitt took 2nd place ($300) and Cdt/1LT Kennedy Lange took 1st place ($750). Their speeches on the constitution were inspiring and educational.

Kennedy represented American Legion Post 1982 and Ansbach Middle High School on March 4th at the Department of France Oratorical Contest. She won the American Legion Department of France State level Oratorical contest receiving $1000. Kennedy will compete in April at the National event in Indianapolis for a chance to win a $25,000 scholarship.
