BOYS TOWN, NE  — The Boys Town Honors Color Guard was afforded the opportunity to Present the Colors for the World Premiere of “Old Guys and Their Airplanes (OGTA)” and the Distinguished Flying Cross Society’s (DFCA) newest production: “The Guy in Back.” This documentary focused on the experiences of two-seat fighter and attack aircraft during the Vietnam War, primarily as told by 1964 Boys Town High School Graduate and 28-year Air Force Veteran Col (Ret.) John Mollison USAF. Decorated Veterans Col. (Ret.) John Mollison USAF (3x DFC) and Col. Warren Eastman (2x DFC) were present for a question-and-answer session with documentary filmmaker John Mollison (Coincidentally no relation to Col. Mollison). Held in the Boys Town Music Hall with an exclusive audience of Boys Town residents, this event was simulcast nationwide on Public Broadcasting Stations, simulcast as livestream on The Distinguished Flying Cross Society’s and OGTA websites and social media. Educator Packets focused on the development of then-sophisticated technology used to better target high-value targets, limiting casualties both with friendly forces and non-combatants. Gifts provided every resident by OGTA and the DFCA included exclusive coins commemorating the event as well as original artwork of a WWII Spitfire Mk.V honoring pilot Steve Pisanos.
