On November 17, Cadet Battalion Commander’s Vel Par of Omaha Central and Ayiana Woodman of Omaha Benson were recognized at the Heartland of America Chapter of the Military Officers Association for her excellence in receiving the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross for Achievement.
They were attending the annual dinner hosted by the MOAA that included 81 guests from the area ROTC programs representing the Universities from Lincoln and Omaha to include Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force. Eleven JROTC programs were on hand to meet the senior cadets and Professors to discuss scholarships.
LTC Michael DeBolt, the Omaha Public Schools Director of Army Instruction, presented the LOV recipients with a Certificate and Commander’s Coin from Colonel Adam Lewis, Commander, 3rd Brigade, US Army Cadet Command. President of the Heartland Chapter MOAA, Colonel USAF (Retired) Dan Donovan presented them with his challenge coin as President of the Heartland Chapter of the MOAA.
CDT Vel Par is looking to become a Naval Officer at University of Nebraska Lincoln and CDT Woodman is looking to go into Health Services at University Nebraska Omaha.
