South Grand Prairie High School’s Warrior Battalion JROTC VEX Robotics Team has reached a remarkable milestone, earning statewide and national recognition for their exceptional performance. In this week’s JROTC VEX Live Remote Skills Competition on Nov. 18, South Grand Prairie delivered a clean sweep in regional rankings…claiming first, second, and third place among all participating teams.
“Achieving first, second, and third place in our very first VEX Robotics competition shows that when dedication, teamwork, and innovation come together, extraordinary results happen,” said retired Sgt. Maj. Darren Williams, Army Instructor. “The South Grand Prairie Warrior Battalion Robotics Team didn’t just compete…they set the standard.”
All three teams finished within the top eight in the entire state of Texas, demonstrating not only technical excellence but also the depth and strength of South Grand Prairie’s robotics program. These outstanding results have earned the Warrior Battalion three coveted invitations to the VEX JROTC National Championship, set for January 25–26, 2026 in Sandusky, Ohio. There, Cadets will compete for the opportunity to advance to the VEX World Robotics Championship in St. Louis this May 2026…one of the highest honors in the robotic engineering arena.
“Now we have our first VEX Robotics Competition for this year behind us which helped ease my nerves for future competitions,” said Cadet Tuyet Ta.
Fueled by countless hours of preparation, unwavering teamwork, and an unbreakable commitment to excellence, the South Grand Prairie Robotics Team has positioned our school as a rising power in JROTC robotics. Their achievements shine as a testament to the talent, discipline, teamwork, and leadership cultivated within the Warrior Battalion.
“Our first competition was an amazing test for our robots and how we can improve to reach greater heights in the future,” said Cadet Annastasia Yesh.
