Broward County Public Schools proudly announces Cadet Sydney Lumpkins as the 2025 JROTC Cadet of the Year. A senior at Pompano Beach High School, Cadet Lumpkins was selected from among 31 outstanding cadets, each representing one of the district’s 31 JROTC programs on May 23, 2025.

Cadet Lumpkins exemplifies academic excellence, leadership, and community service—hallmarks of the JROTC program. She will continue her education at Florida A&M University (FAMU),Criminal Justice.
In recognition of her achievements, Cadet Lumpkins has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship from the Broward County JROTC Support Association and an additional $1,000 scholarship from the Roxanne Jackson GEICO Agency.
Broward County Public Schools congratulates Cadet Lumpkins on this prestigious honor and wishes her continued success in her academic and leadership journey.
