On Memorial Day, the cadets of Winters Mill High School’s Army JROTC Falcon Battalion proudly participated in the annual Westminster Memorial Day Parade, honoring the men and women who gave their lives in service to the nation. Their presence brought discipline, pride, and a sense of solemn respect to this meaningful community event in WESTMINSTER, MD on May 26, 2025.
Led by the battalion’s senior cadet leadership, the Falcon Battalion marched through historic downtown Westminster with precision and poise. Dressed in Army Service Uniforms (Class B), cadets represented the core values of JROTC — leadership, duty, and respect — while paying tribute to the sacrifices of America’s military service members.
Throughout the event, cadets not only demonstrated their ceremonial marching skills but also supported various aspects of parade operations, including crowd management, veteran assistance, and route logistics. Their conduct reflected the program’s commitment to both civic engagement and character development. Community members, veterans, and local officials praised the Falcon Battalion for their professionalism and their role in reinforcing the patriotic spirit of the day.
Colonel Raymond Naworol and Master Sergeant Timothy Leaks, who serve as the Senior Army Instructor and Army Instructor for the program, expressed pride in the cadets’ performance and their continued commitment to honoring national traditions through service and leadership.
“Events like this remind our cadets of the importance of sacrifice, service, and community,” said COL Naworol. “We’re proud of how they carry themselves and represent both Winters Mill High School and the U.S. Army JROTC.”
