South Grand Prairie High School – South Grand Prairie Cadets meet Congressman at SER National Convention

Cadets from South Grand Prairie High School in Grand Prairie, Texas were set to present the Colors at the opening of the 61st National Conference of the Service, Employment and Redevelopment (SER) when they met up with Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33). The Congressman was happy to spend a few minutes with the Cadets before delivering the opening keynote speech. The May 9, 2025, SER Conference was attended at the Loews Hotel in Arlington, Texas, with the theme: “Leaders of Tomorrow: Bridging Innovation and Enterprise.”

South Grand Prairie Color Guard was led by C/LTC Alvaro Cruz, with C/1SG Le, C/SSG Rainey, C/SSG Lopez, and C/CPL Ta. SER National, officially known as the Service, Employment and Redevelopment (SER) National, is a tax-exempt corporation created in 1964 to deliver economic and educational opportunities. Operating out of Irving, Texas, SER National functions together with local affiliates and government agencies to deliver job training, literacy, financial education, youth development, and workforce development programs. Its purpose is to assist people to become self-sufficient and successful and to promote professional development through education and work efforts.
