On May 8-12, 2025, the Viking Battalion Robotics Team in Woodbridge Virginia finished in the top final four teams making to the Semi Finals of the VEX Robotics World Championship 2025 in Dallas Texas.

The Team lead by C/1LT Nicholas Ippolito and C/1LT Austin Williams made it furthest in competition within the 4th Brigade footprint of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The world competition is held each year to engage cadets in hands-on learning, foster skills in STEM fields, leadership, and teamwork; allow students to design, build, program, and compete with robots; and also encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving, preparing cadets for future careers in technology and beyond. Next year’s VEX World Competition is planned to be held in St. Louis, MO.
