Pine Mountain, GA — On Saturday, April 26, the Harris County High School Army JROTC Color Guard had the honor of opening the annual Symphony on the Sand at Callaway Gardens, delivering a patriotic tribute to begin the evening’s festivities on Saturday, April 26.
As the sun set over Robin Lake Beach, the cadets marched onto the stage in full uniform to present the National Colors and the Georgia state flag. Their precise movements and solemn presence set the tone for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra’s stirring performance of the national anthem, which played as the audience stood in respectful silence.
The JROTC Color Guard’s participation brought a powerful and meaningful start to the evening, which was filled with music, community connection, and celebration. Events like Symphony on the Sand highlight the strength of community traditions and the value of student involvement. Gracie Thompson, program manager at Callaway Resorts and Gardens, shared, “We are very excited to have the Harris County Army JROTC participate in the Symphony on the Sand with the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra. It was a wonderful event.”
