On Saturday, January 11, 2025, the American Legion, a strong supporter of the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program across the country, in support of one of its pillar programs, Children and Youth, Fred Brock Post No. 828, in partnership with H-E-B Operation Appreciation, and with cooperation with WSS, provided new shoes to 8 Brackenridge High School JROTC Cadets during its annual ‘Project Shoes’ event held at WSS (Walzem Road location). Cadets who were accompanied by their parent(s), had a $100 budget to purchase new sneakers along with any other item in the store. Some of the Cadets were able to get two new pairs of shoes within the allocated budget. We are extremely grate for the continued support of the American Legion Post 828, its Post Commander Burrell Parmer, and all of the members of this exceptional organization.
