On November 10th, 2024, the Howard High School Army JROTC Lions Battalion proudly participated in the annual Veterans Day Parade at the Merriweather District in Columbia, MD, honoring the service and sacrifices of veterans who selflessly served the nation. Numerous cadets came on this special occasion to showcase their marching skills alongside with many other organizations and veterans, demonstrating precision, discipline, and dedication to the program.
“This event highlighted the discipline and commitment of our cadets, who not only represent the Lions Battalion but also honor the veterans who served our nation,” said Cadet Command Sergeant Major Zack Gerbrick. The parade spanned from the Merriweather Post Pavillion to Whole Foods, filled with a large crowd who cheered for the participants. For the cadets, it was a great opportunity to demonstrate the values of teamwork, leadership, and patriotism. Through their participation, cadets exemplified military discipline and integration taught in the JROTC curriculum.
