October 4, 2024 – Overhills High conducted their semi-annual blood drive. The blood drive was spearheaded by the Cape Fear Valley Health System Moblie Recruitment Team. This event serves as an initiative to raise awareness of the importance of our school and local community as it pertains to blood donations. This event shows service and dedication to an important cause. “We understand that recent events such Hurricane Helene, could very well demand donations form our community and citizens,” says Cadet/LTC Austin Harlow.

“This blood drive shows civic responsibility among its Cadets, exemplified through initiatives such as this blood drives” says the Battalion Executive Office, Cadet/Major Lila Black. These campaigns not only serve to enhance student’s leadership abilities, they also cement our commitment to community service and raising awareness about critical local needs, such as blood donation. Given the recent events that our Western Neighbors recently experienced with hurricane Helene, this year’s blood drive was even more significant.

“Our collaborative efforts showcase the strength of community bonds and highlight the importance of youth in civic life” says Cadet/MSGT Gabe Robertson.”
