The North Hardin High School JROTC Honor Guard is prepared for another school year of supporting the Hardin County community. In the greatest honor and spirit of tradition, the NHHS Honor Guard represented the best values of the JROTC program. Comprised of select JROTC Cadets from this school years class, the honor guard conducts the POW/MIA Missing Man Ceremony at military and veteran events throughout the county. The seven Cadet team is excited to perform as they diligently rehearse for their first engagement. Lead by the Cadet battalion commander, C/LTC Ethan Howard, the team of C/CSM Lily-Rose Hubbard, C/CPT Mackenzie Logan, C/CPT Kyle Smith, C/CPT Amelia Johnson, C/2LT Gabriel Majadas, and C/1SG Emma Terry complete the final dress rehearsal before their first community service event.
CW4 (Retired) Edward Dick, lead instructor for the Honor Guard Team, had this to say, “The first time I saw our Cadets perform the Missing Man ceremony three years ago I was without words. Having served 28 years in the U.S. Army and son to a Vietnam Veteran, I’m still moved by what the ceremony represent and proud of all the Cadets who have performed the ceremony over the years.”
On 7 September 2024, the American Legion Hardin Post 113 in Elizabethtown is hosting the GWOT Salute to Veterans Dinner, and the NHHS JROTC Honor Guard will be there to honor our veterans. They will also be supporting the POW/MIA Day, 20 September 2024, at the Vietnam Memorial wall in the Elizabethtown Nature Park.
